DOSSENA: INTERNATIONAL CAREER IN FOCUS

Andrea Dossena started his international career for Italy at under-20 level. He played four times for the Italy under-20 team for around a year. Dossena was with the Italian under-20 team from 2000 to 2001. Andrea Dossena didn’t make the step up from junior level to senior level immediately. It took several years for him to make his debut for the Italian senior team after his last appearance for the junior team in 2001.

DOSSENA:NAPOLI CAREER IN FOCUS

Italian star Andrea Dossena spent almost two years at Premier League side Liverpool before he signed for Napoli in his native Italy. Andrea Dossena was at Liverpool for 18 months before Italian Serie A outfit Napoli snapped him up during the 2010 winter transfer window.

             DOSSENA BELIEVES BAYERN HAVE GOT A GREAT DEAL IN MANE BUSINESS

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has cited reports from Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, suggesting Bayern Munich are set to close the deal to sign Sadio Mane. The Bavarian giants have reached an agreement on personal terms, with the Liverpool forward set to sign a three-year contract at the Allianz Arena.


Bayern Munich are expected to reach agreement with Liverpool over transfer fee today, with Plettenberg reporting a value of less than €40 million. It could be a major coup for Bayern, especially amid their row with Robert Lewandowski. The Pole has already announced his intention to depart from the Allianz Arena and has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona. ANDREA DOSSENA: CAREER IN SUMMARY

Italian star Andrea Dossena began his professional football career at Hellas Verona in 2001.Dossenacame through the youth ranks at Hellas Verona before he made his debut for the first team. Andrea Dossena played 99 times for Verona in theleague before he signed for Treviso in 2005. He spent one season at Treviso and made 21 league appearances before signing for Udinese in 2006.


At Udinese, Andrea Dossenaplayed 63 times in the league over a two-year spell before leaving his native Italy for the first time to play for Premier League outfit Liverpool. He signed for the Merseyside club in July 2008.Dossena failed to adapt to English football at Liverpool and this prompted his exit after 18 months. The Italian featured in just 18 league games at Liverpool before leaving the club to join Napoli in January 2010.One of his best moments in a Liverpool shirt was when he scored one of the goals during the impressive 4-1 away win over title rivals Manchester United during the second half of the 2008/09 season. DOSSENA: POCHETTINO PERFECT FIT FOR UNITED

There is an agenda that is currently going viral that Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino is the next and right man for the Manchester United managerial job. The rumors linking Pochettino to the Old Trafford job have been around for quite some time now and it does not look like they will be dying down anytime soon. Even before the appointment of Olé Gunnar Solksjaer as the club’s boss back in the summer transfer window of 2018, Argentine manager Pochettino was mentioned as one of the potential candidates who could be taking up the reigns at the club.

But he was not appointed by the Red Devils chiefs as he was still a Tottenham Hotspur manager at the time. Solksjaer managed United for more than three years but was not able to win any trophy for the club and only came close in last season’s UEFA Europe League campaign as he guided the Red Devils to the final of the competition but a loss to Spanish La Liga club Villarreal on penalties meant that he would be ending his reign as United manager without a single trophy to his name.

DOSSENA: COACHING CAREER EXAMINED

Italian coach Andrea Dossena has spent the whole of his managerial career in the fourth tier as far as Italian football is concerned. His first major managerial job was at Crema in the Italian Serie D.

Andrea Dossena got his first managerial job when he was named the new Crema manager on November 27, 2019. He then took the Ravenna job this summer. Andrea Dossena was named the new Ravenna manager this summer shortly after they were relegated from Italian Serie C to Italian Serie D. Ravenna made Dossena their new manager on July 15, 2021.

It’s safe that the managerial career of Dossena has not hit the heights in comparison to his playing  career. He had played for Premier League heavyweights Liverpool in addition to clubs such as Udinese and Napoli in the Italian Serie A. Dossena spent his league football career in England and Italy.

Apart from Napoli, Liverpool and Udinese, Dossena also featured for Palermo (Italy), Sunderland (England), Treviso (Italy), Leyton Orient (England), Hellas Verona (Italy), Piacenza (Italy) and Chiasso (Italy).

Andrea Dossena also played international football for Italy at both junior and senior levels. The left-footed player featured four times for the Italy u-20 team before making ten appearances for the senior team. He was in the u-20 team from 2000 to 2001. Dossena made his first appearance for the Italy senior team during the international friendly clash with South Africa on October 17, 2007. His second cap for the Italian national team came as an half-time substitute during the 2-2 draw with Austria on August 20, 2008. Dossena also put the ball into his own net to put his team 3-0 down to Brazil in what was a 2009 Confederations Cup first round clash played on June 21; 2009. The Italians didn’t have a good tournament as they were eliminated in the first round.
