DOSSENA WILL LAUGH

The former Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena has said that he will burst out laughing if he manages to score against his former club Napoli. The 32-year-old defender recently completed his move to Palermo after the start of the January transfer window. Dossena was expected to be one of the important players for Napoli, but the arrival of Zuniga meant that his first-team opportunities became limited. As a result, he decided to move to Palermo for a season long loan deal. Immediately after his arrival at the club, he could be set to face his former club Napoli.

He has said that he will certainly start laughing if he scores against his former club when asked about the possibility of facing Napoli. He has said that he is extremely happy to be at Palermo at the moment, but has said that the possibility of his move becoming permanent rests on the club only. Palermo will be taking on highflying Napoli during the weekend. After a small dip in form, Napoli have once again been excellent over the last few weeks and are currently in the third position. A few weeks ago, they appeared to be out of the title race, but they are just five points behind the leaders Juventus now.

“I had three fantastic years at Napoli, as Walter Mazzarri wanted me and really counted on my support. Unfortunately, with Zuniga’s arrival I found less and less space, so I decided to look elsewhere. I want to thank Palermo for deciding to focus on me. Their tactics suit my characteristics and I hope they will take up the option to make my move permanent, but the club will decide that in June. It will be a very emotional challenge for me,” said the defender, who has made 169 appearances in the Italian league.
