Poyet Still Searching For More Players

Sunderland’s Gus Poyet is in the transfer market searching around for potential arrivals to the Stadium of Light as the club has already been successful in signing the likes of: Costel Pantilimon, Billy Jones and Jordi Gomez, the progress of the manager is showing but Gus Poyet still has a few things that he wants to accomplish before the summer transfer window concludes.

Fabio Borini and Ashley Williams are targets that Poyet has already launched offers but both of them were denied as Liverpool will not let Borini leave Anfield Road for €10 million which was the offer of Poyet.

Gus Poyet is hoping that the price tag of Liverpool’s Fabio Borini will drop considerably after Liverpool managed on signing Adam Lallana from Southampton and Lallana plays in a similar position to Borini.

Kurt Zouma and Jack Rodwell are players in the wish-list of Poyet but instead of signing them on permanent deals which would be close to impossible, the manager of Sunderland is expecting somehow to sign both of them on loan deals.

Zouma is a 19 year old centre-half who has already been regarded to have outstanding potential and becoming one of the best defenders in the world, Jose Mourinho secured his services from Saint-Etienne with a price tag of €12 million and if Poyet can indeed sign the French defender, it would provide Sunderland with defensive pace as well as build competition for Wes Brown and John O’Shea in the defence of the squad.

Jack Rodwell on the other hand has struggled trying to find a place in the starting lineup of Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini as the young midfielder had to settle with only being able to make 5 league appearances and his lack of playing time might make him want to leave the Etihad Stadium but Poyet will face competition trying to sign Jack Rodwell as Everton and West Bromwich Albion are also interested in signing the English midfielder.
